Revanel

Sayonara...I remember saying

as darkness cloaked my eyes,

granting me that sweet release

back to obsidian skies.

For here, amongst the shades

my lover lies in wait,

his heart alive again

once I returned to this state.

He takes my hesitant hand

and pulls me into his arms,

a gentle kiss awakens me

and we dance without harm.

His hand in mine rests

only when the music slows,

and he smiles into my eyes,

letting at last his wings show.

Raven feathers cup us both

and I cuddle into that musky scent,

loving his handsome body

and the occasional sensual hint.

In his silence, I need not speak

nor must I fight for his love,

here is a place for us alone

no interference from below or above.

He could stay like this forever

if he so chose,

and of course, so would I

if only to prove what love knows.

But that would mean my death

and my dearest will not let me,

he wants me to live

to help my people see.

With a final kiss goodbye

he carries me back home...

I awake with a sigh

and close the heavy tome.

I wrote this for but never got a comment on it…Mayhap my lovely readers on f/p would grace me with a review?

Laters,

KD
