If a yellow fingered sunset crept between today

And tonight then maybe you would feel

The difference a last touch of warmth can make.

---

If dust rose from the surface and uncovered

The truth beneath the dirt, then maybe we could see

A life worth saving after all.

---

But tomorrow has been lost in the pages,

And gravity holds us down more than words

Could set us free.
