Secrets of Success
Everyman on tv
At school they teach
In books people read
Everyman at our level
Understood, trusted,
Believed
The struggle for life
The pursuit of happiness
Never quite making it
Beyond “comfortable”
And yet when people wonder “why”
They never look into a mirror
And deeper into their souls
Everyman may be a fun friend
He may be a source of advice
Though he knows only his experience
Did you never think beyond the box?
Filthy rich
Greedy pigs
Spoiled, rotten, thieves
Where jealousy exists
No money will breed
Have you ever met one?
Did you get to know them?
Self-made millionaire
They are nice
They do care
As long as money looks ugly
To you
You won’t be getting any
You can have your cake
And eat it too
And changing your thoughts
Is all you must do
So when you wake for the day,
Everyman, gaze into the mirror
And speak words of compassion,
Everyman, for yourself and your dreams
And praise that which you would like
Do not focus on what you don’t have
(or the more you will not have it)
And believe in yourself despite the odds
For you are worth it
You deserve it
Don’t ever doubt it
