This happened to me

In the weeks past

Someone I knew

Shattered my heart

Into a thousand pieces

Someone I loved as a friend

Who didn't want

To be my friend

Grabbed one little shard

Of my heart

And left me alone.

I reconstructed my heart since then

Made it stronger

So this could never

Happen again

But that one little shard

That he took along with him

Never seems

To get out of my mind

That tiny, meaningless shard

That means the whole world

Now that it's gone.
