Tear Drops of Rain
The tree hunches, shivering in the cold.
Not a soul stares by,
The tree is all alone.
A single tear wells in her eye,
Mingling with the rain.
All the short life she lived has been
Tainted, ripped to shreds as her forefathers were.
She’d lost the only thing a tree like her had,
Never to have it again.
It was a thing that is always lost,
Never to have again.
She had shed her leaves,
Beautiful as green leaves could be.
She had lost her innocence,
So warm and pure,
And for its loss,
She shed a single tear.
