Beneath broken branches shall we walk,

across forsaken paths

hidden in memory,

shrouded in mystery,

Oh, ageless and forgotten Moon?

With delicate glances do we dare

approach the edge and look

over;

risk our lives for a glimpse

of what could have been?

Let the sand slip between your fingers now,

as the water drips from your hair.

Could it be that this is our eternity?

Lost among the silver shadows

and maroon sunsets of our lives?

Distant shores and forbidden fruits,

irrelevant in the darkening sky;

upon this path there is only you –

and I.
