‘This Our Fate’

Shall you leave this taste in my mouth?

When I speak your name shall venom run

As from the serpent's fangs?

Shall you disgrace yourself before me?

Shall I turn my head in shame,

When others unknowingly speak your name?

Is this what we shall become before we have time to love,

Is this how our story shall end?

With my disgust so plain on my face?

Please I beg you do not end this in this fashion,

Do not make me regret this our time together.

My love for you is strong,

Strong enough to strike you in your heart and show you what you have done,

Done to this my future.

Let me live,

Do not condemn me to this cage,

This cage that our people for centuries have lived in,

Give me my key, my freedom from this bondage.

Let us together rise to power,

Each in our own right.

And rule this our world with the wisdom of many peoples.

This I pray you;

Save me from this purgatory,

This shame.

And let the world see that the transgressions that they dealt us have not held us down.

We Shall Be Victorious!
