Alone I wonder through this world,
Waiting for someone to come and save me,
Break through the facade,
Look past the lies, the masks, the pain,
And see someone worth loving.
Alone I look the sky,
Hoping for some kind of answer,
Some kind of sign,
That someone, anyone, cares,
And will be there waiting for me,
When I finally find where I’m going.
Alone I look at the people in the park,
Mother and daughter, father and son,
Husband and wife, a newly found couple,
Kids and friends playing and laughing,
And I keep on walking,
Forcing down the pain,
And endless loneliness.
Alone I sit in a motel at night,
Watching a bug on the ceiling,
Not enough money to afford anything more,
I think of all that could have been, would have been,
If I had stayed there,
And then I think, I know,
I couldn't've made it.
Alone I walk down a street,
Thinking of someway to keep going,
Not paying attention to where I’m walking,
And I bump into some stranger,
She takes my hand,
Looks me in the eyes,
And says,
"I've been waiting for you."
