Prologue:

Dear Readers,

The world is split into two different worlds; the human world and the paranormal world. The paranormal world is split into different courts, or worlds; wereanimals, fey, vampires, Hunters, and Other. The two I’m mainly talking about are the vampires and the Hunters. There are those rare humans who are the Knowlegded. The Knowlegded are those who know of the Other Side; they’re Knowledged because they found out some how, and didn’t get kill for it. The only catch is that you can’t tell anyone of the Other Side. If you do, you’re killed immediately.

The vampires are split into two courts; the Vampire Animent, and the Millaiden Court. The Animent is said to be the “bad guys”. The Millaiden Court, on the other hand, is the “good guys”. But here’s something that never made sense to me; they like to kill, and they’re the good guys. They invite families of people to their Court just to get them all in a room and kill them.

Then there are the Hunters; like me. Hunters are those of us who were born Riddycks; born with the Power; the Power to kill. Riddycks are told that all vampires are evil, no matter what Court they’re in. Hunters are raised to Hunt vampires; to kill innocent people whose only crime is being Created or Born. We are ruthless; we kill off instinct, and know no boundaries. Most of us will kill anything at anything; those of us of Night.

Knowing this, I hope that if you ever decide to wake the Night, you’re prepared for the death and destructive power that come when you wake the Night.
