The Sleep Disagreement

“Please don’t leave me!” He screamed desperately clinging to her cold body. Although their faces were grey blurs, I could see his colossal tear drops spill onto the ground, creating the red jeweled and gold tiled floor surrounding them glimmer beautifully. He lay in the center of the massive ballroom of the Imposant Palais, regretting with all of his black heart ever excepting the invitation there.

His lover was laid over his lap, while he tried frantically to will away all of the pain that was surely pulsating through her. He pulled her tightly against his crimson stained shirt as thoughts raced through his mind.

This was supposed to be where their new life began, where their lives would be improved and no one could chastise them for being in love. France was there dream and goal for longer then anyone could imagine. Now it was nothing more then a disappointing nightmare.

“I love you forever, au revoir mon amour.” She whispered out with one last haunting breath. Her dark twinkling eyes, the only part of her I could vividly remember, lost their entrancing glow and shut. He held her wrist searching urgently for a pulse, but nothing came. Through the grey, I could see his piercing green eyes turn cold in despair, as he wept over the girls beautiful corpse.

She had been stabbed through the heart. He knew agonizing pain had slowly engulfed her entire body until it was too unbearable to take but one breath. But still he couldn’t help but think his pain was twice as strong, and it was going to stay. He was left as an undead angel, without his beautiful star to light his way through the world.

There was only one thing he could do. Revenge was the only way to fix this problem, even so, the pain would still remain whether he lived or not. He gently lifted up the skirt of her long sapphire gown, to just above her calve of her right leg, and reached for the silver blade that she always carried with her in a pocket around her leg.

A sharp pain on the left side of my chest woke me abruptly, leaving me gasping for air like a mad person. It was a new feeling the dream had never left me with before, as though my left lung had compressed and all oxygen was banned from entering. Icy sweat droplets streamed over temple and made their way down my neck, causing me to shiver. I stared down at my black tank top as I began to breathe regularly once more. Luckily I saw zero evidence of a stabbing to the heart, and nothing had exploded through my chest either. I ran my fingers quickly through my long hair, as I always did when I was nervous.

I hadn’t had the dream in over a six months and I suddenly remembered why I didn’t take much pleasure in it. The same repetitive nightmare had replayed itself almost every other night since I was eleven years old, keeping me from a lot of sleep as a kid. In the past year the strange vision had occurred less frequently, but on the rare occasion that it did come, I would stay awake almost the entire night examining any new detail or words I could remember. I had almost the entire dream memorized, the only thing I that wasn’t clear were the two peoples faces.

Trying to get my mind off the subject, I glanced at the tiny red alarm clock that rested on my computer desk on the other side of my room. From what I could barely see it read;

3:57

I have a busy day tomorrow, no dream analysis for me tonight.

But it was very interesting and should be looked into right away!

No, I’ll examine it another time; I need my sleep in order for things to go as planned tomorrow. My more sensible side concluded

You can sleep on the plane though. Besides your plans never work out perfectly anyway. Insulting my self is a bad habit.

Gee thanks. I’m sorry but No. I’m going to bed and that’s final!

And with that ending thought, I closed my eyes and fell into a peaceful, interruption less sleep.
