Curling up in boxes,
Behind a dumpster called home...
It's a cold one tonight
Wish I could light a fire...

I've made some mistakes in life,
Messed up more than once...
Wonder if I ever had a chance,
Or if God intended this all along now

(Chorus A)
I wouldn't mind believing Jesus,
It might give me something to go on...
Sure wouldn't mind being wanted,
Because I don't like looking ugly...

(Chorus B)
I wouldn't mind being famous,
It might give me something to live for...
Sure wouldn't mind being wealthy,
Because I don't like going hungry...

Years from now I know...
I'll be torn out, tossed down
From the pages of history...
An easily forgotten old man,

Who once held foolish hopes...
I know it's hard to believe now,
But the only difference between us,
Is that you're on the other side of happiness...

(Bridge A)
I'll admit from time to time,
(That I'd enjoy being like you...)

(Chorus A)
I wouldn't mind believing Jesus,
It might give me something to go on...
Sure wouldn't mind being wanted,
Because I don't like looking ugly...

(Chorus B)
I wouldn't mind being famous,
It might give me something to live for...
Sure wouldn't mind being wealthy,
Because I don't like going hungry...

(Bridge B)
But I don't think anyone does...
(No, I don't think anyone does...)

Somehow, no one saw this coming,
Yet it's happened all the same...
No one plans to wind up here
But in the end it seems I have...

How did this happen?
How is this my future?
I don't want you to tell me...
This is why God made me.

I know that must be false,
Cause, I was meant for something more...
We're both quite well aware,
That I was meant for something more...

Something beyond this squalid alley...
Something more than this aimless existence...
