I’ve been haunted by

Old memories of your laughter,

Your smile,

And the beauty of your eyes,

I loved it all.

I can’t forget the

Sweet song you used to sing,

The silly rhymes you used to say,

Or even the soft words you used to whisper,

I don’t want to forget.

I wish it hadn’t happened

The harsh words,

The cold shoulders,

Her,

I didn’t want us to end.

I guess I thought

It would be alright,

That we would figure it out,

And I could still love you,

I couldn’t.

I had imagined

A future for us,

A life for us,

But not this,

I hadn’t imagined the end.
