Feeling the world crumble

Beneath my very feet

I care not to join into society

Why bother? I'd be cast out anyway

Labeled as a freak-- a fool

A naive idiot who cares not to study

The secrets of their world

In an attempt to gain access

I float by through--

A wallpaper in the shadows

Easing like a ninja

Unseen-- unheard--

But in the prescence somehow

Always there

Society and everyday life

What a mockery for a human

To exist in such a world

With so many rules, regulations and laws

How confusing a place

Some of their rules are not written

They are unsaid; unspoken

But assumed that everyone knows them;

That everyone takes part in their existence

That they all understand them

And know the consequences

Of the rules that are never said

But always-- always followed
