Prologue

I wondered sometimes what it would have been like to be normal. I didn’t long for normalcy; I was simply curious. How would my life be different if my family had taken a different path? How would I be different? Would things that were so clear to me now still be that way?

I did not live in a shades-of-gray world. There was good and there was evil and the lines were never crossed. The black or white lenses were the only way to see what was really out there, and they made it much easier to do what we did.

Until now.
