How could this have happened?

I was listening

I was watching

I was participating

I was trying

I made sure

I checked every little thing

I was good

I was smart

I studied

I was nice

I did everything I was taught to do

All for a friend

And all you did was laugh at me

Laugh.

At something I didn’t know about

Not until I met you

It never occurred to me

That I was different

I’m sorry

For ruining your perfection

I wasn’t aware

I wouldn’t have come

If I knew

Oh god! If I knew!

I’m sorry

I’m bigger

I’m weirder

Than all of you put together

I’m sorry

You don’t know where it is I’m from

Now they’re paying for what you did

To a ten year old kid

Who didn’t know she was fat

She didn’t know she was so insecure

And know they’re paying for it

I won’t tell them

It happened years ago

You can still see the affects

You ruined me

I could have been something great

But you ruined me
