fickle finds for simple minds

all i want to do is be famous to you
what a lie that i've spread to myself because
you only cared about what was pretty or graceful not
simple or plain or just not done up and i've tried
(unsuccessfully, i might add) to become one of them
but it just isn't happening and i just seem to stop working for you
even more (such a pity, such a shame,
beauty wasted on your name)
so whether or not i'll become another
simple complexity or complicated simplicity is up to you
will you give me a chance or just throw my soul out the door because
i just wasn't perfect enough?
