Because of you... I have learnt to become numb to physical pain

Because of you... I have felt emotional pain so severe it felt like my heart was being ripped open

Because of you... I know what it is like to go to sleep wishing to die... and wake up disappointed that I’m still alive

Because of you... I have learnt to automatically answer “I’m fine” while inside I’m dying

Because of you... I present a fake façade to the world, complete with a fake laugh and happy smile

Because of you... I have had to learn to curb jealousy and hatred under provocation

Because of you... I have learnt what it is like to feel truly worthless

Because of you... I have found out how to waste precious time dreaming of one I can never have

Because of you... I can no longer look at myself and smile

Because of you... I have learnt how to direct hatred at myself

Because of you... I have learnt to detest the world and anyone who sees good in life

Because of you... my most familiar taste is the taste of blood drawn in anger and desperation

Because of you... I know I count as nothing to anyone
