"Some
days, I forget that you ever left."
Brown eyes opened,
quickly being greeted by a new day. The figure shielded tired eyes
and turned over in the bed. A hand fell onto the empty space beside
her on the bed. A space that had once been occupied by a figure
bigger than her own. Grief overcame her features as she caressed the
empty spot.
"Those are the days I miss you the most."
She
walked out into the bright, new day. A never-darkened sun was shining
above her. A sigh escaped her lips. These mornings used to be a lot
easier for her. Even now, she still felt his touch. The comforting
hand on her shoulder and the passionate kiss on her lips.
"I
get through all of those hard days... somehow."
Coming back
into the busy house, she passed by several familiar faces. The same
faces she had seen many times before. Subconsciously, she faked yet
another smile.
"I wish I could say that I'm as happy as
everyone thinks I am."
Never did they see through her empty
smile. And, every time they failed to look pass it, she just felt
worse inside. Every day, she hated lying so easily to them, but she
couldn't live a day without doing it. Her lies had become a part of
the life she lived.
"But that's what I happen to do so
greatly...Create a convincing facade."
She had visited this
place many times before. It was a secret place that only the two of
them knew of. Where they could find each other when no one else
could. Many times she came here in the hopes that she'd find him.
Waiting for her with the usual confident smile on his face. Not once
had she found him here since that day.
"I wish I could blame
you for all the mistakes I couldn't fix."
She fell to her
knees in anguish. No longer could she fight this pain building up
inside of her. Tears began to stream down her hand-covered face. Her
mind continually wished that she'd feel his hand on her shoulder once
more. To return to her and stop her crying.
As the tears continued to fall, nothing happened. She didn't feel his
comforting hand or hear his calming voice. He was gone and she was
alone.
"But I'm just as guilty as you, maybe even more so.
And maybe that's why you left..."
