She puts make-up on her latest black eye

And tries not to cry

Because she can't stop desperately loving him and doesn't know why

A three-hundred-pound man orders two Big Macs

And a large order of fries

Then a diet coke to use for swallowing his cholesterol and blood pressure medication

What's wrong with this world

A boy walks into a school

Concealing a gun

Preparing to take his thoughtless revenge

For all the pain the world has thrown his way.

What's wrong with this world

And how do we fix it?

A girl sits alone in her room

Taking a razor blade to her pale skin

Carving bright red screams in her arm,

That she is too scared to communicate with her voice.

An elderly women

Hooked up to an oxygen tank

Takes another puff of her inhaler and prepares

To smoke her second pack of the day

There's something seriously wrong with this world
