Remember Me:

Here, I sit,

Alone in this chilling night,

Upon this

Cold, granite

Tombstone

I’ve looked

So I’ve seen

That this headstone

Is inscribed with

My name,

My birthdate,

My status as a human:

Beloved daughter and sister

That’s all that is left of me

And when these that carry

My memory in their hearts

Die themselves,

Who then will remember me?

There is nothing but

This howling wind

And the leaves that

It kicks up

Nothing but me,

Alone upon my stone

Beloved daughter and sister

That’s all that is left of me

And when these that carry

My memory in their hearts

Die themselves,

Who then will remember me?

But the graves by which I sit,

And the one I sit upon,

They suddenly seem

Alright

I still walk the earth

But I still wonder

About that

Beloved daughter and sister

That’s all that is left of me

And when these that carry

My memory in their hearts

Die themselves,

Who then will remember me?
