Eternity to Time

Love means never having to apologize
For all the things you’ve done in life.
Faith means believing in just that one something,
And defending it with all you’ve got.
Hope means that you can’t ever be alone,
For light’s got an annoying way of being always by your side.
Defiance means standing up,
Not necessarily for what is right,
But for what you believe in.
A dream, no matter who dreams it,
Is wondrous and beautiful,
The rival of horrendous reality
and the key to all of mankind’s desires.

There’s a time for everything,
From the creation of the universe
To the end of the world.
Because one day it’ll all be gone,
Even the sky.
What is eternity to time,
That which has and always will be?

They say that eternity means forever and ever,
Throughout one’s life and until one’s death.
But what is eternity to time,
That which both ends and gives birth to all of life?

They say that if we believe in our Lord Jesus Christ,
We will be saved and granted eternal life.
But what is eternity to time,
That which dominates and controls?

They say that love burns like an eternal fire,
Forever raging and forever dangerous.
But what is eternity to time,
That which is everything and can be anything?

There’s a time for everything,
From loving our friends
To going to bed at night.
Because one day it’ll all be gone,
Even the sky.
