Romeo & Juliet

It was destined
From the very first look
To be forever
And that they took

From two different families
From two different backgrounds
Meant to hate each other
And yet different feelings were found

The first kiss was perfect
It took them to a Friar's
Where secretly being married
Only took them higher

Their bliss was short lived
As un-knowing Paris
Came for Juliet's hand
In an honorable marriage

As that would never do
Straight to Friar they went
For a solution
From this terrible event

A poison that wouldn't kill
Juliet was to take
As Romeo in Mantua
Would later learn and ache

He heard of Juliet's death
To an apothecary he went
Not knowing
Of the message that was sent

Gazed on dead Juliet's face
Said his last words
Opened his mouth
And the poison he downed

Juliet awoke
And with anguish took
Romeo's dagger
And as her hands shook

Declared love
And thrust it
Deep, to her heart
Where love for Romeo lay

Their kin found them
Two lovers together dead
In anguish at their fate
Their own blood they shed

Had two statues
Both in gold
Juliet as sweet
And Romeo bold

Reconciled
And forgave
Too late their
Children to save

Never was there tale of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo

Author's Note: Came to me last night at around midnight. I've been on a Romeo+Juliet craze since I saw the movie starring Leonardo DiCapio. Hope you all like it enough to review it. wink wink
