Nothing really important or pertaining to me, just inspired by thoughts of a sad book I read recently.

Today is just another day,
Another tedious day of the year;
Today is another Hallmarked day,
Celebrated by fools, geniuses, and everyone in between,
Today is just another day,
Another day in the year.

It was destiny that we met today,
So many years ago;
It was destiny that brought us together,
On the most "romantic" day of the year.
Today isn't just an ordinary day,
No ordinary day in the year.

We were perfect together,
Perfect for so many years.
Why did you have to leave so suddenly?
And on this day, no less.
Now, today isn't just a regular day,
Not even close to a regular day in the year.

Your leaving opened a new wound,
Something that may never heal.
Now that you're gone,
Everything hurts even more.
I can't tell you today, of all days,
Because I want it to be a normal day in the year.

Fate brought us together,
And now fate keeps us apart;
I'm not bitter or sour,
Nor cynical or cruel:
To me, today is just another day.
It's just another tedious day in the year
