Pieces

While trying to find where the pieces belong
I found a part of me I thought was gone
It was hidden so deep, no one could see
That darkness had taken over the light
Freezing everything over and turning it to ice
But everywhere I looked, the lingering left me blind
Making it that much more difficult to find
It was so cold that I could hardly breathe
Almost taking the life out of me
That’s when it all turned clear, able to see
In the moments of crying out for help
I found where all the pieces could stay
Fitting each and every piece in their place
Leaving no room for emptiness to find me
