one day, while trying to figure out what I was going to put on the next chapter of my Naruto fanfic, I got really bored and wrote this story. It would have been up three days ago if not for fiction press. This is a really angsty little drabble. I'm not really sure if I should leave it as a one-shot drabble or use this as a prequil to a much longer story. If I did continue this story it would be slash. what do you guys think?

I've never written in second person before so I apoligise if this is not that great.

warnings: implied death, suicide and gorey stuff .

Drops of Life

It was a box. Ordinary in appearance, nothing special about it at all really. But to you it is infinitely precious, the most precious thing in your world. Not for itself but for the life kept in it, the life that it represents. You hold the box to your heart. Ignoring the wetness that soaks your clothing.

You see the world in monochrome. The drops fall all around but their color is lost on you. Puddles of red, puddles of life. In a sea of gray.

You think you hear the box pulse with life, but you know that it is just your imagination. There is nothing left of him anymore. Except the box. This precious box.

Once again the beating of the box sounds clearly throughout the clearing. You had your chance. You will never have it again. It's over.

Making not a sound the box falls from your hands. Out scatter memories, Memories of love and life.

Life..., someone else's. Your mind is flooded with images. You watch it all in slow motion. It is not your life anymore. It must be someone else. Before, by telling yourself this you were able to dull the pain. Now it does nothing. You know that it's not true.

Along with the scattered pieces of memories is a heart, staining your empty, gray world with life. Every thing covered in red. He is gone. You have been left alone in this world. All alone.

And a drop of water falls to the ground. Then another, and a few more soon after that. You look up into blue. Because it's raining, and there's not a cloud in the sky.

your cold, monochrome world fades slowly, silently, into nothing.

"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry..."
