Chapter 6

"So What do I have to do" Sylvia asked while walking through the woods.

"You'll find out when we get there" he said walking deeper into the woods, the moon wasn't out yet.

'that's strange' she thought "isn't tonight another full moon?" she asked "If it is, how come I'm still human?"

He said looking up, "Yes it is, and you have to have the moonlight on you or you have to see it. Tonight the moon will come out only after it's done"

She looked at him and said "When what's done?"

"You'll find out when it happens" he turned around to her "You have to swear never to reveal anything that will happen tonight to anyone other than a pack member understand?"

"Pack member? There's more?" She asked

"Of course there are more" he said "Now, yes or no?"

"I understand" She said

"Good, because if you tell I, nor any other pack members, will not hesitate to kill you" he said seriously "We do not like traitors in our pack"

"I w-won't disobey" she said.

They continued into the depths of the woods it was getting harder to see anything, but Zenos seemed like he could see just fine. "We're getting close, we'll be there soon" Zenos said. The trees were less thick and there was a light up ahead of them.

"Will I see any of the pack tonight?" she asked

"No, that will be later" and left it at that "Now hurry up it's right up ahead" he broke into a run with Sylvia right behind him. "We're here" he announced walking into a bare spot. He turned to Sylvia " Do you accept the mark of the wolf?"

"I-I guess" she said

"Yes or no?" he demanded

She nodded "I accept the mark of the wolf"

He asked "Will you abide by the rules of our pack and remain forever as a wolf?"

"Yes"

"Hold out your left hand" she did, Zenos put a wrapped up, fang like dagger in her hand. "It's made of silver, it will burn in your right hand when you perform, the burn will symbolize that you have completed the ceremony and that you belong with our pack" he said "Now, unwrap the dagger and hold it in your right hand" she hissed as the silver handle burned into her skin "Repeat after me, with this dagger"

"With this dagger" she repeated

"I give my blood, myself, and my life to the way of the wolf and my pack, then cut your left palm and pour it into this goblet" he put it under her

She repeated, took the fang-like dagger, cut her palm, and let the blood flow into the goblet below. She looked at Zenos, seeing him bite his palm and pouring his own blood into it as well. "Drink half of it" She picked it up, put to her lips and drunk. Zenos did the same after her "Almost done, follow" he said as they went a bit deeper into the woods. She heard a noise ahead. "You need to give something else from your old life" he explained "Something you're attached too" he came to another clearing but stopped.

"Zenos?" Sylvia asked

"I can't go any farther" he said "you must go on your own"

"Why? What do I have to do?" She asked sounding worried

"I can't say, you must face this alone, as I and as the elders did, hurry they're waiting" He turned back

"Who?" she asked but he was already gone.

She looked ahead into the clearing, but saw nothing. She sighed and walked forward, in the clearing was a post and a massive white wolf, It was taller than her. It walked up to her and nudge her right hand. She held it up it looked and licked it.

"So you are the new member?" he asked, she nodded "Did he tell you what is to happen?"

"Only that I must give up something from my past" she said

"Zenos! Now!" he barked. Zenos came out carrying Jenna, tied her to the post and left

"Sylvia! help! they're crazy they're going to kill me! Please!" Jenna shouted

"Jenna!" Sylvia yelled and turned to him "What are you doing!? She's my best friend!"

"Exactly, she is the one you must sacrifice from your old life" he said

"I can't! She's my friend!" she said staring into Jenna's crying eyes

"You agreed to this when you cut your palm, if you don't I will kill you" he said

Sylvia fell to her knees and cried "What m-must I do?"

"Sylvia! What are you saying!? You can't!" Jenna pleaded

"You must eat her beating heart that lies within her chest as a wolf"

"How c-can I turn? ("Sylvia!") there is no moon" she asked still on her knees

"If you agree, the moon will come out, Do you accept that you must kill her and you will?" he ask

"Yes" Sylvia saw the moon appear from behind the darkened clouds, She began to transform her nose grew into a snout the teeth enlarged and thick gray fur covered her, her legs snapped inward. The transformation was complete.

She glance at Jenna, then her green eyes flickered to the white wolf, who nodded. Sylvia moved toward Jenna, who was now crying harder than ever and squirming trying to break free. "Sylvia, you d-don't want to do this, I'm begging you!" She looked into her pleading eyes and growled. She pounced on her and tore out her beating heart in her chest and ate it. She looked down at Jenna who was now dead. She licked her face and howled a mournful tune. The white wolf walked up to her, "The ceremony is over, you may leave, you may take her and bury her if you wish" and left. Sylvia took her body and dragged it to a deeper location into the woods, She dug out a hole for her and buried her. She let out another mournful howl and left.

A few years later

"Hey Kane?" A black haired girl with green eyes said

"What is it?" Kane asked

"I don't see why we had to move and change our names, I liked the name Zen-" She was interrupted.

"Shhh! People may here. I told you we need to disappear for awhile and I told you I move around a lot" Kane said "besides, I thought you liked the city Ashly?"

"I hate that name Why can't I stay with Syl-" Kane kissed her.

"You talk to much" he said and drove at the same time

"But there isn't much of a forest here like in Yuki, I don't think there are any of our kind here" She said

"Think of our soon to be child" he said

"I am! I want him to grow up in the woods, not in the city with humans" she explained

"We'll go some where else then" he said

"What's wrong with Yuki?" she asked

"They were getting suspicious" he said

"Your too paranoid Kane" she said "But that's why I love you"

"Now come on, we need to see the doctor you should be anytime soon" he said glancing down at her swelled stomach

"It won't be a regular doctor will it?" she asked

he laughed "How many doctors do you know who will deliver a special baby like ours? Especially three of them?"

She laughed too "not many, so will it be- ahhhh" she screamed "Zenos! they're coming"

"Sylvia! hold on! I'll call them, please just wait!"

"How the hell can you stooooop it?" she said holding her stomach Zenos called the doctor and they were there less than 10 minutes. She had a baby girl and two boys.

"What's they're names?" the doctor asked

"Zack, after Kane's father, Bacane, after my father, and Jenna, after my best friend" she said looking down at her new babies.
