Trust the darkness
And trust the stars,
Hovering in that black emptiness above us.
The night can be a curse if you wish it.
But I choose to see it as a gift,
A change from the constant glare of the sun.
The sun is critical and cruel.
It can tear you apart,
And reveal your deepest secrets to the world.
But in the moonlight you're safe,
And you don't have to fear,
Being whom you truly are deep inside.
In the moonlight, you can dance if you wish,
You can cry and you can scream.
And the Moon won't mind.
It won't tell the sun and laugh behind your back.
So trust the darkness.
Let it wrap around you.
Let the calm of the night seep into you,
And wrap itself around you, the blanket of the night.
Don't fear losing your way,
For you can trust the Scorpion and the hero shining bright in the sky,
To show you the way when you are lost.
But most of all trust the Moon.
For, despite stories of the star in the north,
It is the moon that offers the most light and the most guidance,
In the darkest time, in this dark world.
