Muse

Inspire me.

Bring to the surface my hidden

ideas.

Flow through me like

blue blood,

waiting to emerge and find

oxygen.

I promise once you show me your

secret,

I will not waste it.

I will not take it for granted.

I will use it, embrace it,

love it.

Like I love you.

You’re stubborn.

You lurk around corners in my mind,

waiting to jump me when

I least expect,

but refuse to show your light when

I tell you.

You will not be pushed.

You cannot be forced.

When I need you, you seem to

hide.

When I ask for you, you seem to

flee.

Until I fall,

depleted from lack of

inspiration;

from lack of

You.

Then you emerge,

smiling,

when I least expect,

at the most inconvenient

of times.

But you emerge;

you embrace me and you always

inspire.
