Dream On

Belief’s never come easy;
Esteem is hard to find.
Love won’t set me free,
And hope has gone to hide.
My last faith has failed me,
The pillar can no longer stand.
There’s some passion in no glory,
For my life’s become so bland.

All I’ve left is a dream,
A wonderful, beautiful dream.
A dream that includes you,
And you, and you, and you.
I dream of the stars
I dream of the world
I dream of the sky
And I dream of everyone.

I dream of equality
I dream of discovery
I dream of adventure
And I dream of history as vast as the sea.

I dream of all our dreams,
Of all the wonders of youth.
I dream of all our dreams
And how we can and can't make them all come true.

So dream, all children;
Dream, all you fools;
Dream, the cynics and nonbelievers;
of a life better, of a tale never told
of a world never lived in
and of wonders never imagined.

Dream, all citizens of disheartened faith,
of loves lost and never found,
of forevers never ever promised,
of broken tears and silence
and heartbreaks undisturbed.

Dream on, all the people
Dream and discover
Dream and be happy
Dream and live unloved
Dream and do nothing,
For it's all you ever do.

Belief is coming easy;
Esteem I've yet to find.
Love has set me free,
And hope will never hide.
My faith has unblinded me,
The pillar's strong enough to stand.
There’s some passion in my life,
For to my grave have I brought a feeling,
A sense that all the life I have lived
Is well worth dying for.

All I've left is sleep,
Blissful, eternal sleep.
