Celina was a nice, respectful girl. She had a decent amount of friends, but her best friend was Amy. They met in kindergarten, and became best friends ever since.
“Hey, give me my shoe!” Amy shouted, as Celina was running playfully in the backyard.
“You know, ninth graders don’t do those kind of stuff…” Amy repeated, finally failing at her adult speech. She laughed so hard and rolled on the grass. Celina giggled, throwing her shoe back at her.
“Thanks,” Amy said, sarcastically but still laughing. She had blonde hair with highlights, she was skinny, tall, had sparkling blue eyes, and was incredibly beautiful.
Celina had wavy brown hair with green eyes, her face was freckled and had a bright smile.
Amy picked her hot pink converse shoe and slipped it on.
“Hey, is there a party today?” Amy tried to remind herself
“Yeah, think so. Amanda invited us…”
“Amanda?”
“Lucas”
“Oh
yeah. So are we going? She’s pretty nice,” Amy’s soft voice
asked. Amy was the silliest girl, yet so happy. She always had a
smile on her face.
“Yeah, guess so. I’ve nothing to wear, though…” Celina reminded Amy.
“That’s not a problem, lets go to Forever 21 today and pick us outfits.” Amy gave the option.
As they walked to Forever 21, they found the perfect outfits. They looked way beyond gorgeous for the party.
A doorbell ring was heard.
“Hey guys! You came… Oh, Celina, didn’t know you were coming…” Amanda’s sly voice pierced through Celina’s ears.
“Oh, well, I thought I was invited, I—“
“She’s with me,” Amy smiled.
“Er, I’m not sure this is the best idea… I mean, I don’t know how much Amanda wants me here, honestly.” Celina definitely wasn’t in the party mood.
“Hey Celina, I’ll make sure you’ll have fun. Trust me!” Amy assured Celina.
“Ok…” Celina was a bit insecure, but trusted Amy. They are best friends, there was no one in the world she would trust more than Amy.
The next morning, Celina looked for Amy. She found her settled in another in another lunch table, with Amanda Lucas.
Celina knew she didn’t do anything wrong. She was sweet to everyone in the party, and played her role perfectly fine. Amanda Lucas was the most popular girl in school. Amy and Amanda got along really well yesterday, in that party. She probably wanted to sit with her, so Celina decided to give her some space and talk to Amy later on.
After school, Celina went to Amy, going to ask her why she was ignored.
“Hey, Amy, don’t go away… I was wondering, why are you ignoring me? I mean, I know I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?” Celina was confused.
“Er, Celina. Look, I don’t want to be your friend anymore, okay?” Amy’s voice became cold all of a sudden.
“But, why?” Celina asked, eager to know why.
“Because… you’re, you’re not good enough. Not popular enough.” And those were Amy’s last words. Celina cried her guts out, she could not believe it.
She stepped into her room, finding her note which was made in first grade saying “Amy + Celina Best Friends Forever” with their signatures on it.
Celina’s tears fell like rain, and she took her pencil and corrected it.
“Amy + Celia Best Friend For Never”
