Just a warning...I wrote this poem when I was a sophomore in high school. Hehe... I actually like it, though, and after reading this, it amazes me how much I've changed over the past four years...
“Guardian Angel”
Flying on angel’s wings,
gliding through the air.
You smile as the wind hits your face
and blows back your hair.
Don’t worry, I’m here
to take you away from your pain.
I’m your guardian angel
here to save you once again.
Remember when you feel and broke your pride?
I was the one who held you.
Remember when the pain became overwhelming?
I was there to help you through.
You may not think that I
heard your hidden cries,
but I did and watched—teary eyed—
your slow demise.
I wish I could have helped you
and I want you to know that I was there,
sitting with you in your closet,
drowning with you in your despair.
Now here with me
you fly above the skies,
flying through the clouds
and forgetting all your lies.
Now you are safe and you are alive,
at least you are here in my secret place,
where there is no color,
there is no race.
Nearing where you will now reside,
prepare yourself for your new life to unfold.
You will learn that even in death
you have to deal with the new and try to forget the old.
Flying on angel’s wings,
gliding through the air…
we have reached Paradise,
where you will forget the pain you bear.
