It’s like a staring contest between you and I,

the way your eyes lock with mine.

Those crystalline blue orbs make my green eyes shine.

We don’t talk that much,

usually only a simple “hi”.

But in the midst of these starring contests,

the entire world seems to fly by.

Not a word is said and this lasts for but a second,

but all that is said is but a straightforward understanding.

You show up everywhere,

and then disappear just as quickly.

My heart aches when our stare is broken,

though it took me a while to figure out why…

No matter how much is conveyed through this padlock of gazes,

there is one thing my eyes don’t present.

That would be how I adore you.
