Past’s Portrait

Ancient picture of a young boy, dusty portrait on the wall,
Are you prepared to answer when destiny calls?
Blue-eyed youngling, pure innocence within
Your future holds both laughter and wicked sin

Gazing at the portrait of youth, can't help weeping from what I see;
I look into the eyes of a young boy who once was me,
Tears fall down my cheek, my lips shiver as I try to speak,
Wondering how I became so weak, I need the answers, they're what I seek;

Spelling the question that the artist forgot when he drew;
Would you have lived my life if you knew?

Uncertain whispers from a falling star,
I demand to know who you are;
What's your name, from where do you hail,
Where does your path end?
Do I live in vain, shall my lonesome quest fail;
Will my broken heart ever mend?

I need to know; Who am I..?
