We’ll stare at words

Filling blank lines

Names obscure

Show empty signs

A heart is lost

The grave is dug

But at what cost

To ones we love?

You’ll lose today

My dying wish

Last words I say:

“Please, I insist”

Immature liar

Caught in the past

Drowning the fire

That turned you to ash

Rebuilding foundation

Of you, undissolved

The end is adjacent

With problems unsolved

You’ll call out my name

But I’ll be long gone

It won’t be the same,

Just some stupid love song:

A girl who will wait

Till her heart is shattered

To realize her fate:

That she never mattered

And when he decides

He needs her the most

She’ll lock feelings inside

Pretend he’s a ghost

And everything

She thought was real

-from sewed up wings

To broken deals-

Began to fade

Into the light

(She wished they’d stayed

Without a fight)

And you’re no different,

Molding with the rest

Saying words you never meant,

If only for a test:

A task requiring strategy

And passing earns your heart

I never thought I’d be ready

But welcome on your part:

I was there when no one was

To lift you from your grave

Forever remember this because

You’ll always just be saved.
