Once More With Feeling

This might lack feeling,

but who are you to judge?

You no-face, no-name shadow who determines my future.

Who gave you free reign on my life?

I’m more a matter a fact

than beat around the bush.

Where are her flowery jewels and clichés,

they ask..

I think I left them in my other jacket

with my conscience and other impractical things.

I can do what you like,

but tell me,

where’s the fun in that?

It’s people like you that bore me,

that tell me what I should strive to be.

Here’s a thought,

and a little exaggeration for your benefit.

Here’s a wonderful wunderkind like you wish you could find.

Let go,

and do it once more with feeling.
