Your loving arms hold me

But your arms are ghosts

Because I have never been held

Your lips kiss my cheek

And then my lips

But they are just whispers in the wind

Because I have never felt a man’s lips

Press against mine

My heart is full

But only full of the imagined

Not the real

And as I kiss the wind back

And run my fingers across your phantom arms I wonder

If you will ever come

Or if it is just a dream

That I will have to keep

Forever lost in the shadowy corners

Of my forsaken heart
