You see me everyday
Or really, only the days you choose to look
I’m always there when you’re ready to face me
I will never lie to you
Some days you tell me I’m ugly
I promise I’ll never correct you
I see your true self and the pain in your eyes
I see your moments of insecurity
Some days you look at me like you hate me
Other days you don’t look at all
But when you do, you try to change me
And deep down it hurts you. I can tell.
You can try to touch me
You won’t get very far
I’m covered in my glass exterior
I am your reflection
Someone once told me that they thought that I was being abused after they read this poem. So to clear some things up, I am not and have never been abused. None of the thoughts and feelings in this poem are my own. I only write them.
It probably needs some work, but thanks for reading.
