“The Bus Boy”

You held the door,

I walked through,

And said thank you.

We sat and talked.

We practically work at the same place.

Then the bus came.

You said after you.

And I said thank you.

Again we talked.

We have so much in common.

We both are in love with science.

And hate the time we have lab.

You and I get up.

We are at our stop.

We start to go our separate ways.

You say wait as I go.

I stop and turn

There you are waiting for me

You say, “nothing, never mind.”

So I turn again.

And yet again I turn back,

To see if you have gone.
