A poem I wrote for my best friend Mike, lines deliberately plucked from songs that remind us of each other. It was a challenge to weave them together into something new.

Can I quote a song to you?

One small line, maybe two?

Or maybe I’ll mash them all together

And make something totally new.

So you’re listening right?

No, you don’t have to take notes

Come here, and I’ll start singing to you

Or Why don’t you and I start together

And go on forever?

45 years could go by

and yet you’re Always with me

And When you’re gone, I’ll always be Remembering you

Seeing Beauty in the darkest of places

Touching the map where I’d find your face.
