The Dream

Had a dream last night.
You were there
by my side.

We never left each other.
Always together
happy in love.

Saw us walking
hand in hand in the park
full moon shining above.

Went to the shore
sat on the rocks
looked out on the ocean.

We were together.

You smiled down at me.
Got closer.
And closer.

Closed eyes
faces inches
from one another.

And I woke up.

Alone.
