Title: Curriculum Vitae

Rating: T

Genre: Poetry/ General

Note: I was just inspired to write this because of the continuing mundanity of my life. Ugh, maybe I’m just bored to tears . . .

Curriculum Vitae

Everyday we go through the same mundane phase
We walk, we talk, we each participate in a single race
A race where we are each one’s friendly foe
At the same time racing and never bothering to be slow

We each strive to be the winner in this race
Together we battle for about countless days
We help each other to win and continue till the end
But the unfortunate fact is that in this race, anyone can be dead

This race that we humans go through is a total mystery
We ask questions, we doubt our faith and produce our own theory
We earn our own benefits if we have chosen the right path
Or earn a drudgery that produces the black threads of wrath

In this race we are called to do our very best
For we never know when Death shall let us rest
From this world full of iniquity and its contrasting integrity
To the eternal abyss that we each meet our same destiny

So everyday we battle together in this race of life
Where we travel with doubts and meet a new strife
Wondering why we are here and why we keep on racing everyday
In this very complicated and mysterious curriculum vitae.
