He smiles as he remembers
the many times when she was small.
He recalls the time when she let him
pick her up and never let her fall.
He brings back so many memories
of his kind hands brushing her curls,
all the times when she hugged him –
when she was daddy's little girl.
-
He remembers when their love was full,
and they said they would always be friends.
But the years have gone by
and she wants it to end.
-
She's so sick of his love,
for once she wants to be alone.
When she made that promise to
always love him, she should have known
that one day she would grow up,
and be done with tassels and furls.
One day she'd be sick of
being daddy's little girl.
-
He remembers when their love was full,
and they said they would always be friends.
But the years have gone by
and she wants it to end.
