Secrets(?)
Chapter 1
Two people sat in a tent, one male, one female. The male was of average build, but for a 19 year old, was a little taller than usual; not much, but just enough that you could see it. He was currently busy getting his usually fairly neat blonde hair out of his black eyes.
The girl was about 18 with long brown hair and green eyes. She
ALWAYS wore a black choker with a BIG symbol on it. She had a confident expression on her face that distinguished her as the ‘superior’ of the two, although she would not act in a way that would upset anyone.
“So, what did you see?” Asked the girl. The boy was a seer, and that is very useful for spying.
“I was walking down a huge hallway, likely in the palace, and I came to a huge door. I couldn’t go through this one like the others. However, I could hear… voices from the other side. They were talking about the princess. Mina Kuna. They think she’s alive.
At that last part, the girl went pale. She also started shaking.
“Dinaraku, you okay?” The boy asked.
The girl, Dinaraku, said nothing. She just got up, walked out of the tent, and into the campsite. It would be very sunny if not for the massive amount of clouds. Dinaraku didn’t care about that. She didn’t even stop to make sure everybody else was doing their fair share of the work. She just continued on into the woods surrounding the campsite, found a log, sat down, and started sobbing.
……
Dinaraku had been standing in the middle of a giant bedroom. Loud music seeped up from three floors below. The room belonged to the princess, Mina Kuna. She was supposed to be preparing for the feast to celebrate her eighth birthday. Very few there knew she wouldn’t survive the night.
‘Come on Dinaraku, you don’t have to do this.’
‘Yes you do. If you don’t ‘kill’ her, they’ll kill you.’ The eight year old (Dinaraku) was having a debate with herself based on her morals
So, ultimately, she had given in and threw the flame, starting the fire that would demolish the remains of Mina Kuna.
……
‘I can’t believe it. If they think Mina Kuna is alive, they’ll come looking for her. If the Organization finds her, she’s as good as dead. Chances are people will be looking for me too.
“So, watcha doin’?” The same boy from before asked, as he decided to take a seat next to Dinaraku.
“I’m…,”a sob escapes from her body,” just thinking… About my past. I was forced to do something. I didn’t want to, but… if I didn’t… I would have died.”
“How? Who would’ve killed you?”
“……..” Dinaraku was uncomfortably silent. Finally, she said something. “I think the Organization is looking for me.”
“Who?”
“The Organization of the White Bull.”
“Oh…” But he trailed of there, too stunned to say anything.
The Organization of the White Bull was a cult. They were originally created to worship the sun god, Louixiv, whose symbol is a white bull. However, due to recent attacks, the previous leader and their family were dead. The new leader wanted nothing but to seize control of the country, Musha Kobetn.
Nobody even knew who the new leader was. But whoever they were, they were, they would do ANYTHING to get power. Even kill Mina Kuna by himself, although considering the fact that Mina Kuna had a younger sister, they would have to kill her too.
By now, even the unusually level-headed boy was frightened. “Are you sure? Why?”
“Roeni, I have no idea why, although yes. I am completely and totally sure that, for some reason, the Organization of the White Bull is looking for me.
Even though Roeni could tell Dinaraku was lying, he seemed satisfied with this answer, and therefore he left Dinaraku to calm down and pull it together.
Talking to Roeni helped Dinaraku to calm down some, so once he left, she did something else to help herself, and her friends. She found the river in another area of the woods, and using the discarded net she had found, planned on fishing for their lunch.
However, a deer had already discovered the river and was drinking from it. Not wanting to frighten the deer and possibly scare it off, Dinaraku slowly crept towards the deer. She was about three- fourths of the way there before the deer even took any notice of Dinaraku at all. Sensing no threat, the deer simply resumed drinking, despite the net Dinaraku was carrying so that she could fish.
After feeding the deer, Dinaraku started her fishing. Since fishing rods did not exist, she had to go into the middle of the river and use her net. Unfortunately, after she caught only the second fish of the day, which was not enough to support four people, a lekuath came bounding out of the woods.
Lekuaths are hunters. They could probably eat anything, if they were hungry enough, although they customarily eat fish, wolves, and bears. Likely it wanted the fish that Dinaraku had caught.
The first thing Dinaraku did, before anything, was survey her assailant. It was of about normal height, which for a lekuath is somewhere around eight feet tall! It had razor-sharp claws and feet, as well as gigantic wings, giving the lekuath the appearance of what some innocent, unknowing people might mistake as a giant gargoyle, but Dinaraku was not fooled. She could see the massive spikes protruding from all over its back.
Dinaraku wasn’t sure she’d even be able to slightly injure the stone beast, but she did the only thing she was able to do. She started to draw her three foot long sword and prepared to fight.
Naturally, the lekuath attacked first while Dinaraku was pulling her sword out of its sheath. The attack was swift, but it lacked power. By the time it made contact, however, despite its speed, Dinaraku already had her sword out, and was ready to launch a counterattack.
Unlike the lekuath, Dinaraku put a good deal of power into her strike. Unfortunately, the injury was minor and the only indication she harmed the stone giant at all was a small trail of blood instead of the river it should have been, and would have on practically anybody else. River of trickle, though, the lekuath became enraged.
The next attack made was by the angered lekuath. It moved with blinding speed, and its claws had much more power behind them. Likely it was enough to knock Dinaraku out instantly. However, Dinaraku was expecting an attack, and was barely able to block it with her sword.
What she didn’t expect was a second assault. This time the lekuath crept behind its opponent and jumped backwards, catching Dinaraku on its massive spikes.
She struggled for a few seconds, but it was a futile effort, and all in vain. The only accomplishment made by her halfhearted attempts was more pain. Dinaraku eventually just gave up struggling, letting unconsciousness claim her.
When the lekuath felt its prey stop moving, it peeled her off its back and thoroughly examined hers. What it saw confirmed its thoughts. Satisfied, the lekuath gathered its prey, and began preparing for its journey back to the Organization of the White Bull.
I even redid the chapter for you!
Oh yeah, I think the title sucks, so if you have a better one, could you please review?
