I wonder what they think before they lay their heads down to sleep

I hear the laughter fill the air around me

I see the smiles on the faces of those who love me

I want the whole world to smile and laugh at life as they do.

I pretend the world is all sunshine and rainbows, happy-go-lucky, work out for the best

I feel the contents of my pages, I feel their lies

I touch the hearts of millions with this same lies

I worry they may think what I say is true, real, reliable, and proven

I cry at every broken heart just searching for her happy ending

I am the prince charming and the happy ending

I understand that they’re only children who believe everything they hear

I say, “Once upon a time,” like it really happened, and “Happily ever after,” like nothing is wrong

I dream of a technicolor world of perfection like those depicted in my pages

I try to give an inkling of truth to my story without hurting anyone

I hope someday that they find their happy ending, their true love
