Darling?

Daring?

Ask your door what it knows,

More than the carpet. Less than her walls,

At least this building knows I’m hurting.

The window- my window is broken and unhinged.

Daring?

Darling.

The mirrors dictate I help you off my floor,

But the doorframe caused your fall,

You know your bed is cold, but safe,

The sink, not mine nor yours- is bleak and inviting.

Darling.

Daring?

Have you asked his windows opinion?

Clearly more sensible than the books on tables,

I’ve known his door to bite but softly.

The bed, yours, the bed is distant and quiet.

Darling daring.

Daring darling.

Go ask your door what it knows.

Your walls say only: “dulcis quod fidelis…” (they lie)

At you now know nothing or know nothing now.

My door- knows so very very little of you.
