Staring into
The inky darkness,
I lose myself.
The stars - daunting.
The moon, lonely figure,
Stirs in sorrow.
Stranger in the crowd.
Lost and drifting,
no destination.
A breeze settles
Calls mournfully.
Untamed, aimless,
Wanders forever.
Faithless world,
Ignore the future,
Forget the past.
When will we realize
Our chance is slipping?
While the heavens
Rearrange themselves,
Remember days
When we worshipped
The very skies
We long to forget.
