Being parallel is easy
Distant, cold, unaffected
Being parallel is a breeze
Your mind is clear, at ease

Being parallel draws a line
Between the world and your mind
Being parallel keeps you constant
And maybe a lot more resistant

Dreaming keeps you numb
To what the world has become
And because parallels never meet
You never have to admit defeat

Still
What would you become
What would you be like
What if you weren't numb
What if there were a transversal
Something perpendicular
Something that stops your longing
Of simply belonging

I wrote this strange bit during Math class. When my teacher said, "Parallel lines never meet" I just scribbled this down on my notebook without realising it. Sorry, if it isn't good, but I sort of felt that way because I'm so weird, sometimes I feel I do the stupidest things that I wish I could erase. Review, if you like it. Review, without a flame.
