IT

-

It trembles with fear as he approaches

He yells profanity at It’s way.

He screams not in a drunken rage-

-

He closes in on It

Like a hungry animal

stalking his prey

ready to strike

-

Every time he is fast-

It is even faster.

Running from It’s punishment-

Punishment undeservedly given.

-

But eventually he catches It-

It screams and silently

Pleading for It’s life.

Not wanting it to come again.

-

But then it begins once more-

The beating of It.

The kicking of It-

It is powerless to stop him.

-

Suddenly he stops.

He does not say a word.

He only looks and walks away-

To him the child is only It.
