Fiery Path

Down that fiery lane of truth – oh, how we search for it, but once we find it, we burn.

We yearn for the truth, we want it, and, just before we get what we want, we know that it is nothing else – we want nothing else, other than this; this truth.

When we get it, however, we find that we would have been better off without it.

“I could have been brave, rather, seemed brave, in the eyes of others, if not for this truth,” you might say.

Or you might say, “I might have been able to forgive,” or, “I might have been able to go on,” or even, “I might have been able to love.”

But, is it better to not know the truth and only seem brave, to forgive those who aren’t deserving of forgiveness, to live your life drunk on lies, or to love because of false statements or feelings?

The path burns brightly before you – walk through it.

Will you walk through it?
