Guardian of Man
By: Jocelyn
Wearing the eyes of an angel I cried.
Seeing the world filled with hate through her eyes.
Raindrops poured down from the Heavens above.
The pure hand of God stretched— none could be saved.
---
Wings of an angel lift me from this world.
Showing the chaos of life far below
I cried as I watched them scurry away,
Their life in ruins from the force of sin.
---
Their wealth consumed their minds and fragile souls.
A life so much like the torture of Hell
Avarice consumes a soul much too fast.
One taste and you’re hooked— your mortal soul damned.
---
Clouds parted and the gates of Heaven glowed.
I was welcomed because of my ‘pure soul’.
My mind wished I stayed but my heart said no.
I now understood what was never told.
---
The world down below me was left unfinished.
The hearts of men were easily misled.
Seven sins left to roam and ruin them.
I pity their life, so tempted from birth.
---
I jumped from the gates of Heaven an angel;
A protector of fragile mortal souls.
I know that it seems weirdly pieced together in some places, well thats because it's true. I had some touble with a few lines and if you read it again you'll know which ones they are.
Even without those minor imperfections I hope you enjoyed it none the less. Oh and the little dashes are to the stanzas stay the way they were ment to be. The computer is not allowing me to space them.
